Power quality recognition in distribution system with solar energy penetration using S-transform and Fuzzy C-means clustering


PQ disturbances with solar PV penetration in utility grid are investigated with synchronization, outage and change in insolation.

An approach based on Stockwell transform and Fuzzy C-means clustering is proposed.

Simulation results are validated using RTDS.

Investigated PQ disturbances include voltage fluctuations, sag, swell, flicker, harmonics, IT and frequency variations.

Power quality deteriorates with increase in solar PV energy penetration.
